And at least, it was time to present the work. The meeting was at the Nordberg Museum Room , a nice place that was able to welcome 100 persons.
just before starting, some were relaxing themselves, some repeated one last time, a bit impressed by the number of habitants that came to assist the presentation.
Ana and Eve repeting their presentation
Anne Katrine started by describing the principles that was
at the origin of the creation of this course (combining differents disciplines and countries, working on a case study each year at a different place, active learning and collaborative work).
Then one representative of each country said some feelings about Lista in his mother language, a good demonstration of the richness of the multicultural approach. The presentation was organised
in 6 parts (1: a general overview based on the feelings and perceptions of the students, who have been impressed by the power of the wind, 2: a focus on wind break forest, 3: an overview of
farm systems and forestry and differents scenarios of changes, 4: a proposition for creating a network of trails in the inside part of the territory, bad known but with a high potential of
interest, 5: an approach of sustainable tourism with 3 applications concening the management of the sandy shore, 2 scénarios for better integrating the airport and a reflexion/proposition for
creating a sustainable campsite, 6: and a developpement of the birdwatching activity which is an important activity here.
After the presentation, a debate started immediatly with the
persons. First the major sent his congratulations to the students for the richness and quality of their work. Some were surprised to see that the students had explored remote places and have seen
so many animals like mooses and bievers.
The discussion turned also around how many visitors this place was able to welcome and what level was acceptable for the inhabitants. One challenge of this course was to demonstrate that the
landscape could be a good key to help people express their opinions and expectations about the future of their territory, and the quality of the debate demonstrated that we had reeched this goal.
As a conclusion, Anne Katrine said that the presentation and the report will be sent to the municipality that can re-used it if they want.
