first feelings

D3 Saturday 4th of November

In the first part of the day, we defined how the study area will be divided. The professors wanted to divide in six parts and all the groups would have to work on the same scale. The Bordeaux students proposed us to divide in different scales. A global one with the entire Region including the Dragonian valley, an other one will study the whole valley and the other groups will focus on four geographical regions of the valley.

After that we attended a lecture of Roland Gustavsson who is a landscape architect professor in Sweden. He spoke about “insiders and outsiders in the landscape”. The aim is to point out the fact that in order to manage the landscape, you have to feel it on the field.

Just before having lunch we made an exercise called “the blind landscape”. A group had to draw a landscape without seeing it and just described by an other student.

The drawings were SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After lunch, each group discussed about the better spots to qualify its study area. Then, we went on the field to KIFFE (to enjoy) the landscape.

In the evening, until 10.30 pm (it’s true!!!!), we attended a presentation of all the universities.

D4 Sunday 5th of November

During the day, each group returned on the field to continue its analysis. We began to draw some beautiful maps to analyse our landscape. Some of us attended a formation by the landscape architect professor Eva Konkolyne Gyuro from Hungary about landscape assessment tools.
