The official presentation

a great great moment!

Monday the 13th was a great day. After ten days studying the Dragonia valley’s landscapes, it was time to present our conclusions, from a more scientific point of view after the first presentation in front of the locals. We had the chance to welcome the Ambassador of Hungary, the vice ambassador of Portugal, the director of the Slovenian bird protection organisation, a representative for the project of creation of the regional park in Dragonia valley, Slovenian professors and students from Ljubljana university … (those who have been forgotten please accept our apologizes because it have been difficult to note all the references of the participants).

only two days, the students have been able to take enough distance from their feelings to better explain how these landscapes looked like, how they were perceived by the inhabitants and by outsiders like us and how they could change, due to the development of Kopper suburbs.

Of  course, the work wasn’t so comfortable for those who had to do it. Some discussions were “rough”, some students have been disappointed not to have been able to convince the others of the interest of their own way of thinking. However, they made a lot of efforts to listen to the opinions of the others, to better perceive how their different approaches could be gathered in an unified presentation.

Sunday evening, the professors decided to organise 4 meetings in parallel to analyse how each speciality (Agronomists, foresters, landscape architects, ecologists and biophysical engineers) could take into account the others threw the landscape concept.

At the end, these very rich debates have enlighten a common vision without taking of each originality due to our national culture and our scientific back ground.

The result was very impressive with a great quality of the slides and the expression and a serious scientific level. Even if the presentation was a little too long, nobody has been bored by this length and some discussions after demonstrated that the topic was very motivating.

At the end, all the students received the famous diploma of “landscape ambassador” and for the first time, the Slovenian students offers the professors the same diploma

 

After this hard working period, the students had organised a specific buffet with all the products of their countries ; another way to discover new landscapes … and it was not boring at all.
