Who is our great photographer???
Anne-Marie Filaire’s photographic work is of a documentary nature in that it demonstrates the attitude of a maker of documentaries.
Her interest in the evolution of spaces is seen in her work with the French Ministry of Environment and later in Israel-Palestine, where the landscape has been extremely precisely documented. Her photography is mainly consecrated to “between two” zones, buffer zones where even though habitants cannot be seen, traces of human activity saturate the space.
The images make a statement and show, before anything else, the moving structure of a territory by evoking the political dimension of the landscape.
Her research is specifically concentrated on what are known as “frontier” zones in the Middle East but also in Cambodia and Vietnam, in Eritrea and Yemen.
