The main characteristics of a peri-urban zone

+ revitalizing villages

+ periurban zone is not very crowded

- conflicts between previous inhabitants and the new ones

- bigger pollution

- periurban areas are becoming a dormitory town

* at least two types of peri-urban zones: older (retired) people are moving into into houses

young families moving into new neighbourhoods

+ new infrastructure (schools, ect.) and investions

+ link between producers and consumers

+ tax incomes stay in a town where you live

+ peri-urban zone is more evoluted than countryside

- decrease of agriculture

- people go shopping to the city center, so they don't participate to the local economy

* living in a periurban zone can be both: cheaper or more expencive

+ taking care about abandonet landscape

+ resettlement of abandoned villages

+ recreation area

+ green belt

- new buildings which often have nothing in common with thw cultural landscape

- bigger polltuinon

- decrease of cultivation

- the landscape all over is becoming to look the same

- patteren of the old landscape is getting lost
